Pauline Lewandowski

June 19th, 1918 to February 6th, 2014
Pauline Lewandowski, 95, of Jeddo, died Thursday, February 6, 2014.

She was born June 19, 1918 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Stanley and Katherine Cempura. She married Charles Lewandowski on June 17, 1939 in Detroit. He died May 21, 2008.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Hank) Wallace and Joan Wilson; a daughter-in-law, Irene Lewandowski; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Pauline (Everett) Reeves and Charles Lewandowski; a son-in-law, William Wilson; and eight brothers and sisters.

She and Charles raised their family in Michigan and then retired to Arizona. They enjoyed their carefree years of retirement. They traveled, made many friends, and often went to Las Vegas, one of her favorite destinations.

Pauline was an extraordinarily caring woman. She loved cooking for her family, making Christmas ornaments for them, and crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren, until her eyesight failed. It was her greatest frustration that she was no longer able to show her love through the work of her hands.

Her strong faith in God and the blessed Mother sustained her when her son, Chuck, and daughter, Pauline, died. Despite her faith, she never recovered from the death of her husband, Charlie, after 69 years of marriage.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Road, Farmington with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
