James D Weeks

James David Weeks, 71, of Davenport, Florida, formerly of Marysville, died November 30, 2014.

He was born December 23, 1942 in Wayne to the late David and Margaret Weeks. He married Karen Kniaz on August 27, 1966 in Detroit.

Mr. Weeks was a pipefitter and electrician with Detroit Edison for 31 years and was an Amsoil jobber. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a founding member of Knights of Columbus Marysville Council #9526, serving as District Deputy and Grand Knight and was instrumental in the building of the council hall. He enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son, James D. (Lynn) Weeks II; a daughter, Janette Connor; four grandchildren, Jamie Lynn and Jessica Leigh Weeks and Paige Marie and Kirtis Michael Conner; two brothers, Richard (Bea) Weeks and William (Carol) Weeks; a sister, Judith (Robert) Ray; a brother-in-law, David Burke; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Weeks; and a sister, Theresa Burke.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary led by the Knights of Columbus will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Weeks will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 in St. Christopher Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Gardens, Livonia.
