Thelma A Skonieczny

Thelma Ann Skonieczny, 90, of Marysville, died Friday, June 17, 2016 in her home.

She was born June 24, 1925 in Sanilac County to the late Ernest and Flossie Higgins. She married Richard Coon on May 29, 1943, he preceded her in death on November 27, 1974. She married Chester Skonieczny on January 29, 1977 in Marysville. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2010.

Thelma held many jobs during her career including working at Kresge’s, renovating homes with her husband and working at her brother Eldon’s manufacturing shop. She loved to cook and clean not only for herself but also for her family.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Elsie) Coon of Kimball; her daughter, Faye (Fred) Bouchard of Sarnia; her sister, Donna Miles of Marlette; three granddaughters, Robin Young (Buzz Wilson), Heather Coon and Kelly (Roger) Graham; grandson, Rich Bouchard (Laura Greaves); five great grandchildren, Douglas Young, Cameron Graham, Kyla Graham, Preston Coolledge and Grady Bouchard; and her special kitty, Lucky. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Eldon; two sisters, Golda and Bernice; and three great grandchildren, Justin, Nicholas and Rebecca.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. noon Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2501 Stone Street, Port Huron. The Reverend Timothy Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Bluewater Hospice.
