Dolores Helzer

Dolores Helzer, 89, of Marysville, died Saturday, August 19, 2017.

She was born May 2, 1928 in Detroit to the late Paul and Lillian Sears. She married Robert Lee Helzer, Sr. on October 9, 1948 in Algonac. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2010.

Dolores was employed with the Marysville School District until her retirement. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, crocheting, fishing and playing cards.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Jan) Helzer, Jr., Gloria (Thomas) Barbe and Cindy (Christopher) Graw; seven grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Dolores will lie in state from 10:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery.
