Houston Henry Charlton

Houston Henry Charlton, 63, of Port Huron, departed this life on Sunday, May 27, 2018.

He was born on May 12, 1955 in Port Huron, the son of the late Houston and Christine Charlton.

Houston lived most of his life in Port Huron, and attended Port Huron Area Schools. He learned the cement finishing trade from his father and was employed with J. Brown & Sons Inc. for several years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Houston also had an artistic talent for carving and making canes.

Houston leaves behind two sons, Houston H. Charlton III and JaMall Ace Charlton of Grand Rapids; a host of grandchildren; four sisters, Eva (Ronald) Searles, Theresa (William) Nesbitt, Delilah Rogan and Christine Maria Charlton; a brother, Edward (Stacey) Charlton; a host of nieces and nephews and friends, including one special friend, Dawn Gogoree.

Houston was preceded in death by his father, Houston, in 1998 and his mother, Christine, in 2017; brothers; Samson H Charlton and Lester James; a sister; Florence Alexander; brother-in-law, Roy Rogan Jr; and sister-in-law, Ellnora James.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 5, 2018 in Only Believe Outreach Ministries, 1020 Chestnut Street, Port Huron with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Gary M. Rogan will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
