William Seaton

April 30th, 1924 to December 10th, 2011
William R. D. Seaton, 87, of Smiths Creek, was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, December 10, 2011 with his family by his side.

He was born April 30, 1924 in Melvin to the late Russell and Leah Frank Seaton. He married Gloria Friedsberg in 1944 in Capac. She preceded him in death in 1993. He married Betty VanAelst in 1995 in Hart, Michigan.

Mr. Seaton owned and operated Seaton Farm Equipment in Yale until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of North Street United Methodist Church. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, watching ships on the St. Clair River, camping, collecting IH tractors, bird watching, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; five children, David (Judie) Seaton, Kathy (Rod) Horton, Jayne (Herb) Troutner, Julie (Bob) Lipinski, and Shelly (Mark) Rose; 10 grandchildren, Francie, Duke, Will, Megan, Matthew, Josh, Lindsey, Kaylee, Allison and Courtney; 7 great grandchildren, Madison, Dylan, Kassidy, Shayna, Charlie, Logan and Faith; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in North Street United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend William McBride will officiate.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
