Ethel McCants

April 18th, 1925 to December 18th, 2011
Ethel M. McCants, 86, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2011.

She was born April 18, 1925 in McCormick, South Carolina to the late Andrew and Lula Brown. She married Nathaniel “Nate” McCants on May 1, 1945 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1998.

Mrs. McCants was a was a devoted member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, a Life Member of the N.A.A.C.P., Corinthian Chapter #19 O.E.S., and was very active in the community.

She leaves to celebrate her life, seven children, Dr. M. Ruth McCants, Barbara McCants, Veta and James Simpson, Juanita Marshall, Alice Adams, Gerald Noble and Norman Brown; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two beloved sisters, Helen Hearst and Betty Simmons; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel McCants.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011 in the All Nation Redemption Center, 2030 Church Street, Port Huron with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Alex Crittenden will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
