April 27th, 1922 to January 26th, 2012
Elizabeth Ann Musgrave

Elizabeth Ann Musgrave, 89, of Port Huron, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 26, 2012.

She was born April 28, 1922 in Germany to the late Otto and Minna Gurgel. In 1926, Elizabeth and her family immigrated to America and settled in Port Huron. She married Myles Musgrave on May 22, 1966. He died December 24, 1985.

Elizabeth was a 1940 graduate of Port Huron High School. She loved married life and she and Myles enjoyed traveling abroad, singing in the church choir, making and decorating cookies, and collecting Nativity sets from around the globe. Elizabeth was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and sang in the church choir for over 50 years. She loved her Savior and her church and she put her faith into practice. She visited the sick, remembered people by sending them cards, and gave gifts from her heart. She was an avid cookie cutter and recipe collector, a museum supporter, a quote collector, and a loving “grandma” to Eric, Amy, Ryan, Mindi, Josh, Molly and Callie.

She is survived by her sister, Charlotte (Dr. William) Snoddon of Mesa, Arizona; nieces, Linda Snoddon, Nancy Finston and her sons, David & Alex, Judy Asbury and her daughter Nora, Peggy Bunn and Dawn Cooper; nephews, Ed (Gloria) Elsholz, Thomas Bunce and Jack Bunce; and special friends, Mary Schneider and Lynda Rathje. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Gurgel; a niece, Janet Elsholz; and a nephew, Brian Snoddon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend John Carrier will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ed Elsholz, Steve, Eric and Ryan Rathje, Al Schneider and Josh Sobol.
