Lois E Ludy

Lois E. Ludy, 84, of Port Huron, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.

She was born January 17, 1928 in Port Huron to the late Fred and Pearl Black. She married Maurice C. “Moe” Ludy on August 30, 1975 in Port Huron. He died February 5, 2008.

Mrs. Ludy was employed with Earl C. Smith Motor Freight prior to her retirement. She loved dancing, quilting, going to garage sales, wintering in Florida with Moe, crossword puzzles, going to bingo, visiting friends, volunteering at Port Huron Hospital and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, Deanne (Rich) Horvath, Lynn Vann, Jim (Connie) Fogal, Don (Marci) Fogal, Fred (Debbie) Fogal and Jeff Ludy; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen Anglebrandt; a brother-in-law, Norm (Fran) Ludy; sisters-in-law, Margery Miller and Madeline Erdman; a special friend, Norma Nichol; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Fred and Don Black; and a sister, Leah Crorey.

Visitation will be 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at

7 p.m. The Reverend Barry Sheldon will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in support of her grandson, Chad Fogal, who is currently battling cancer.
