Comm C Hines

May 3rd, 1943 to June 23rd, 2013

Comm C. Hines, 70, of Fort Gratiot, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Medilodge of Port Huron where he had resided since December 2011.

He was born on May 3, 1943 in Port Huron to Comm and Beulah Hines.

Comm was a resident in the Adult Foster Care home of Doug and Deborah Warner for 27 years and was an active member of the ARC and T Shop, where he worked and enjoyed arts and crafts. He will be remembered for his ready smile and handshake. He loved to sing "Popeye the Sailorman" and "Davey Crockett."

He is survived by his mother, Beulah Belanger; his sisters, Star (Richard) Hartman and Deborah (James) Watson of Port Huron; his brother, Jacob (Cathy) Hines of Crown Point, Indiana; a step-sister, Patricia Pavlov of St. Clair; his "family" at Warner's; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Comm Hines, and stepfather, Jack Belanger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Richard Reinhart of Wadhams Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Warner family and Medilodge of Port Huron for providing outstanding care to Comm for so many years.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Enterprises (ARC) of St. Clair County.
