Nadine Smith

Nadine Marie Smith, 78, of Clyde Township, died, Friday, September 20, 2013 at home after a long illness.

She was born September 16, 1935 in Port Huron. Nadine Setter and Kenneth Smith were married September 24, 1955 in Port Huron.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Port Huron High School Class of 1953 and served as secretary of the reunion committee. She retired from the City of Port Huron on October 1, 1995. She was a 50 year member of First Presbyterian Church.

Nadine’s home and family were very important to her. She enjoyed travelling with Ken in their motor home, spending time at their home in northern Michigan and taking cruises together.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; beloved son and daughter-in-law, Brian (Brenda) Smith; two granddaughters, whom she adored and was always so proud of, Nicole V. and Brianne M. Smith; four great grandchildren, Jayden, Kaelynn, Brayden and Alivia; her brother, Arthur (Ida Mae) Setter; sister-in-law, L. Jean Setter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lysle (Betty) Smith; and several special and loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Jeffrey A. Smith and Scott A. Smith, and her brothers, Clifford E. Setter and Clyde V. (Hilda) Setter.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 (her 58th wedding anniversary) in First Presbyterian Church, 811 Wall Street, Port Huron. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9 AM. The Reverend Breanne Ryan will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronald Arkles, Norman Fretenborough, Milan McIntyre, Richard Phillips, Gordon Shaw and Robert Warshefski.

Memorials may be made to Special Olympics Area 4, First Presbyterian Church or Blue Water Hospice. Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
