Stanley James Simpson, 92, of North Street, died Thursday, August 21, 2014.

He was born December 22, 1921 in North Street to the late Frank and Flossie Simpson. He married Phyllis Rose on October 10, 1942 in North Street. She died May 24, 2012.

Mr. Simpson was a truck driver with the Times Herald. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hard work, farming, playing cards, traveling and wintering in Florida, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Edward Simpson of Indianapolis, Indiana and Gary (Debbie) Simpson of Reese; seven grandchildren, Terrence, Kevin, Meghan, Jeremy, Scott, Adam and Molly; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edna McCoy and Eloise Young; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Simpson, Eleanor Walker, Shirlie Ellis, Marilyn (James) Rumley and Arnold (Pat) Rose; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean; two sisters, Evelyn Stein and Frances Oswald; a brother, George Simpson; and brothers-in-law, Bud Rose, James McCoy, Russell Stein, Colin Young and Thomas Oswald.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in First United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend William Wright will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township. Pallbearers will be Kevin, Terrence, Jeremy and Scott Simpson, Bill Rock and Tom Rumley.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
