Obituary

E. Jean Waddell, 97, of Marysville, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014.

She was born March 16, 1917 in Port Huron to the late Jay and Laura Cleland. She married A. Thomas Waddell on October 27, 1938 in Port Huron. He died December 3, 1985.

Mrs. Waddell was a lifelong member of Sturges Memorial Congregational Church where she served as the clerk, Sunday School teacher, pianist and sang in the choir. A talented artist her whole life, she taught china painting since 1946. She was a member of the Porcelain Portrait Society, the China Painters Teachers Association and the International Porcelain Artists & Teachers Association. She was a life member of Cornell Chapter #93 O.E.S, a member of the Daughters of the Revolution, Questers, and the Museum of Arts and History.

She is survived by a son, Sandford T. (Madeleine) Waddell; three grandchildren, Andrew (Tomoko) Waddell, Jacob (Pamela) Wallin and Johanna (Vincent) Pilette; four great grandchildren; several nieces, including Cheri Waddell Webster, a nephew; and longtime friends, Beverly Little Walker, Sang (Eun) Han and Darla Vansach. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Jean Waddell in 1974.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 in Sturges Memorial Congregational Church. The Reverend Robert Harrell will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Lavis, Nick Lucas, Sang Han and Allen Little.
