Karen L. O'Donnell

Karen Louise O’Donnell, 42, of Port Huron died Saturday, August 12, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 20, 1975 in Mount Clemens to Delores A. and the late Victor F. Russ, Jr.

Karen graduated from Port Huron High School in 1993 and Grand Valley State University before becoming a certified oncology nurse and certified clinical research nurse. She worked at Blue Water Oncology and at Mercy Hospital where she started the clinical trial program. Karen was a former President of the Oncology Nursing Society and member of the Ross Ladies Bible study and the Tuesday morning Colonial Woods ladies Bible study.

She is survived by her children, Evelyn Rose O’Donnell, Madelyn Marie O’Donnell, Ralph Leo O’Donnell, and Patrick Victor O’Donnell, and their father, Tim O’Donnell; her mother, Delores Dinelle; two sisters, Louisa (Matthew) Hickman and Laura Sylvia; a brother, Tom Mackenzie; nieces, Breanna Marie Sylvia, Ashley (Shawn) Dent, and Megan Hickman; and many other cousins, family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kathryn and Howard Cleland and Bertha and Victor Russ, Sr.; nephew, Matt Hickman; and cousin, Natalie Merriman.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Ross Bible Church. Pastor Steve Scott will officiate. Pallbearers will be Karen’s family, Randy, Michael, and Eric Merriman, Doyle Cleland Jr., Dick Cleland, and Bryan Currie.

Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Relay for Life of St. Clair County.
