Stanley Sulkowski

Stanley Sulkowski, 84, of Marysville, died Monday, April 30, 2012.

He was born February 2, 1928 in Hamtramck to the late Paul and Anna Sulkowski. He married Dolores Modelewski on September 15, 1956 in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Columbus Township. She died September 20, 2003.

Stan was a supervisor for U.S. Customs, retiring in 1990. He was a graduate of Memphis High School, served in the U.S. Army and was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.

He is survived by five daughters, Cindy (Chuck) Harland, Linda (Bill) Zimmer, Christine (John) Johnson, Carol (Michael) Kulhanek and Cheryl (Jim) Garneau; grandchildren, Andrew & Dana Harland, Phillip & David Johnson, Stephanie Kulhanek and James Garneau; a sister, Mary (Ray) Czostkowski; and a brother, John (Grace) Sulkowski. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Harland; and two brothers, Ed and Tony.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and 1-3 & 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Sulkowski will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend Anthony Sulkowski and the Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Columbus Township.
