Pearl Lang

November 5th, 1933 to June 27th, 2012
Pearl V. Lang, 78, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.

She was born November 5, 1933 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late James and Clotell Norris. She married Isaac "Ike" Lang Jr. on June 27, 1953 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2002.

Mrs. Lang moved to Port Huron in 1943 and she and her husband built their lives around the community. She was a teacher with the Port Huron Area School District for 20 years, beginning at Garfield School and moving to Holland Woods when it opened. She was a 71 year member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, was a member of the MEA, PHEA and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She enjoyed traveling and will be dearly missed by her many family and friends.

Pearl and her husband Ike were major benefactors to Mercy Hospital Cancer Services, the Peoples Clinic and Port Huron Hospital. In 2000, they provided the funding for the Lang Health Library and became members of the Port Huron Hospital Foundation Beacon Society, a special group of individuals who have made significant contributions toward the quality of healthcare in the community.

She is survived by her brother, Raymond (Gwendolyn) McCoy; nieces and nephews, Linda (Floyd) Allen, Melody McCoy, Daniel McCoy, Julie McCoy, Greg (Gloria) McCoy and Glen (Julie) McCoy; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepfather, Howard McCoy; and two brothers, James Norris and Charles McCoy.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 2, 2012 in New Covenant Life Ministries. The Reverend Alex Crittenden and Pearl's brother, Apostle Raymond McCoy will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pearl's nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Peoples Clinic.
