Garrett R Hight

Garrett Ross Hight, 70, of St. Clair, died Saturday, February 2, 2013.

He was born January 4, 1943 in Trenton to the late George and June Hight. He married Kaye M. McCampbell on October 20, 1962 in Detroit.

Garrett owned and operated Metro Boring and Machine which later became Garrett Precision. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Longbeach, the first nuclear-powered cruiser. Garrett enjoyed motorcycling and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kaye; three children, Loryn (Gerald) Retell, Mark (Dawn) Hight, and Steve (Angie) Hight; seven grandchildren, Wayne, Samantha, Rocco, Kylie and Dayna Hight, and April and Derek Retell; a sister, Gail Berggren; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Hight.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Hight; and a brother-in-law, Richard Berggren.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Marysville United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Barbara Welbaum will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy.

Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
