Joyce L Ernst

Joyce Lillian Ernst, 74, of Port Huron died Monday, December 23, 2013.

She was born February 15, 1939 in St. Clair to the late Russell and Mabel Hyslop. She married Percy Ernst on June 18, 1966 in St. Clair. He died February 10, 2003.

Mrs. Ernst was employed with Huron Plastics and the St. Clair County Intermediate School District. She was a foster parent for 25 years and was actively involved in Girl Scouts, especially with their camp fires. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Ernst; daughters, Brenda Ernst, Dawn Hyslop, Kim DeJohn and Debbie Parniske; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Chuck) Smith, Margaret Black, Gladys (Gerald) Graham, Irene (Bob) Priene, Virginia Spruytte, Phyllis Adams and Barb (Gary) Herbert; brother, Howard (Dorothy) Hyslop; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Russell Campbell and many other close friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Edward Hyslop.

Visiting will be from 6-8 pm Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11am Monday, December 30, 2013 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
