Margaret A Savedra
Margaret A. Savedra, 90, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 after a long illness.
She was born on October 17, 1923 in Port Huron to the late Andrew and Barbara Setter. She married John P. Savedra Sr. on February 14, 1946 in Port Huron. He died January 24, 1992.
Mrs. Savedra was an active member of the Guadalupe Mission of Holy Trinity Parish.
She is survived by a son, John “Chico” Savedra Jr., two daughters, Linda Spear and Carmen (Willis Tolley) Curry, and a step-daughter, Frances Savedra, all of Port Huron; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Anderson of Port Huron; a brother, Raymond F. (Darlene) Setter of Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Mary Suarez and Jaqueline Russell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Setter.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 8pm.
The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Guadalupe Mission. Father Joseph Gagnon will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Margaret’s grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Barbara Ann Karmonos Cancer Institute or the Savedra Kitchen Fund.
