Elizabeth C Booth
Elizabeth “Betty” Sturk Booth, 95, of Fort Gratiot passed away Friday, March 14, 2014.
She was born November 30, 1918 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Sarah Sturk. She was a life-long Blue Water area resident. She married Ivon L. Booth on August 23, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2008.
Mrs. Booth volunteered with the American Red Cross for many years. She enjoyed doing many activities in her beloved church, Community of Christ, including leading Skylarks, Zion League and Young Adults. She taught church school, bible schools and chaired many holiday fairs. She was a statistician at the Fort Gratiot and Varney Street churches. She also co-owned and operated the Northgate Dairy Bar with her husband.
Mrs. Booth is survived by her children, Patricia (Gary) Piper and Robert (Susan) Lambert; grandchildren, Cody Lambert, Nathan Hendrick, R.M. Lambert, Jess (Chris) Utley, Brenda (Terry) Burleigh, Terri (Mark) Pulleyblank, Troy (Patty) Piper and Aaron Piper; and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cara Lambert and sister, Leona McMonagle.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday, March 17, 2014 in Community of Christ Church, 4920 Lapeer Road, Kimball, Michigan. Her son, Robert Lambert of Community of Christ Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.
Cody Lambert, Nathan Hendrick, R.M. Lambert, Mark Pulleyblank, Troy Piper and Jon Teeple will serve as pallbearers. Aaron Piper, Tyler Lambert, Ethan Fike, Dylan Piper and LeRoy Ledsworth will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Community of Christ Church.
