Obituary

Beverly Jean Louks, 85, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born February 1, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Henry and Frances Warren. She married Rex R. Louks on June 26, 1948 in Port Huron. He died December 12, 2009.

Mrs. Louks worked at Sears and later in life at George Innes Men’s Wear as a seamstress. Jean was a very talented seamstress, making the wedding dresses for her sister, daughter and daughter-in-law. She was a member of Washington Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the “Sew Crazy Quilters.”

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Robert) Bernum and two sons, Randy (Sandy) Louks and Daniel (Julie) Louks, all of Port Huron; nine grandchildren, Melisa (Daniel) Schaub, Matthew Bernum, Mark (Colleen) Bernum, James (Jeanine) Louks, Sarah (Christopher) Webb, Laura (Doug) Rolsing, Jacob Louks, Nathan Louks, and Jessica Louks (fiancé Axl Tidwell); seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou (Eugene) Patrick and Nancy (Bruce) Terbeek; a brother, Marvin (Nancy) Warren; a sister-in-law, Marge Warren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Ellenor Rix; two brothers, Robert Warren and Ronald (Mary L.) Warren.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 in First United Methodist Church, 828 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. The Reverend William Wright and the Reverend Grant Lobb will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Jean’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sanctuary at Mercy Village for the wonderful care Jean received over the past five years. They would also like to thank the staff at Premier Hospice for the care she received this past six weeks.
