Obituary

Marvin Leroy Hardy, Sr., 79, of Port Huron Township, died Thursday, October 9, 2014.

He was born June 10, 1935 in Port Huron to the late James and Gladys Hardy. He married Patricia Moak on December 18, 1965 in Port Huron.

Mr. Hardy was a custodian with the St. Clair County Health Department. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of D.A.V. Chapter 12. Marvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, drinking coffee, lifting weights, watching hockey and baseball, and taking care of his cars.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; four children, Marvin (Susan) Hardy II, Nicholas (Debra) Hardy, Christopher Hardy and fiancée, Pam, and Anne Marie Hardy and fiancé, Jerry; nine grandchildren, Tabatha (C.J.), Beth, Kristie, Cora, Marvin III, Alise, Nicole, Shalyn and Matthew; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Chapdelaine; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda Hardy, Bonnie (Ron) Baker, Judy Greene, Connie (Larry) Burdick, Gordie (Terry) Moak, Dennis Adams, Debbie (Dave) Hoag, Terry Moak, Mike (Pat) Moak, Kathy (James) Owens, Wayne (Tina) Moak and Clint Whitman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Hardy and Frank Hardy.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Wargo will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the Veteran’s Honor Guard Alliance.

Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Peck. Pallbearers will be Marvin II, Marvin III, Nicholas and Christopher Hardy, Matthew Bedard and Jack Teddy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association.
