Richard F McTaggart

Richard F. “Dick” McTaggart, 75, of Port Huron Township, died Friday, December 19, 2014.

He was born October 20, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Frederick and Hannah McTaggart.

Mr. McTaggart was employed at Yeager Bridge Company for 3 years and then was a custodian with the Port Huron Area School District for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Port Huron High School Class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Marysville Coin Club, loved history, bowling, traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by five children, Pamela (Todd) Cunningham, Mark Hammerle, Harry (Cynthia) McTaggart, Frank McTaggart and Bob (April) McTaggart; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Stein; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane McTaggart and Nancy McTaggart; several nieces and nephews and his best friend, Jack. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Cindy Hammerle; and several siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 in St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Bill Moldwin will officiate.

Mr. McTaggart’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
