Mary E Dinkins
Ms. Mary E. Noble-Dinkins, 77, of Port Huron, departed after a long illness on Monday, February 9, 2015 and went home to be with our Lord and Savior.
She was born to Bud and Dorothy Noble on June 22, 1937 in Port Huron Hospital. Mary attended Port Huron High School. She was united in holy matrimony with Amos Dinkins in 1954. Mary was BIG on family! She felt that a family united was a strong force to be reckoned with! The Scripture says, “For every city and house divided against itself cannot stand.” (Matt. 12:25)
Mary lived a full, festive life! She had a huge heart for people and she was always cooking something. Anyone who knew Granny knew that on any given Sunday they could stop by her house and get a plate of collard greens plus a full meal. Her favorite hobbies were Bingo, scratch off tickets and Motor City Casino.
She is survived by three of her children, Rhonda Noble, Linda (Eugene) McCain and Brodrick Dinkins, all of Port Huron; eight grandchildren whom she helped raise, Darcy Noble of Port Huron, Marky (Cindy) Noble of Clinton Township, Trella Lee and LaShay Phillips of Port Huron, Devin (Jessica) Dinkins of Midland, Daphne Noble, Eugene McCain Jr. and Kelsey Noble, all of Port Huron; 26 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; (This made four generations of love!) her baby brother, Gerald (Bum) Noble of Houston, Texas; her special sister, Virginia “Ginny” Brown; best friend, Marie McCain; special daughter, Edna Brown-Howell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos; a baby girl, Doreen Dinkins; her parents, Bud & Dorothy Noble; her mother-in-law, Margret Dinkins; brothers, Willard Ghourdin (Gerdie) and Roosevelt Noble; a granddaughter, Falon Noble; and a grandson, Jalen Brodrick Dinkins.
Mary will sorely be missed, always loved, and NEVER forgotten. For you are home again!
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in New Covenant Life Ministries with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. The Rev. Carl Miller Sr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
