Shirley L Albert
Shirley Lorraine Albert, 79, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 after a short illness.
She was born June 8, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Henry and Lydia Dortman. She married Gerald Albert on May 8, 1965 in Port Huron.
Mrs. Albert was a lunch supervisor at Thomas Edison Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, ceramics and traveling. She was a very special and generous woman who treasured her time with family, especially Sundays with her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Gerald; four children, Dawn Robbins, Chris Cope, Teri Schulte and Gerald Albert Jr.; four grandchildren, Danielle Robbins, Kayla Ainsworth, Kady Cope and Michael Cope; five great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Thompson; three brothers, Robert Dortman, Gerald “Jake” Dortman and John Dortman; a special sister-in-law, Cathy Hedberg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Schulte; a granddaughter, Kelly Cope; a great grandson, Carter Gainer; two sisters, Irene Woodman and Betty Jane Dortman; two brothers, William Dortman and David Dortman; and a son-in-law, Stanley “Bud” Cope.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
