Catherine Cureton
Catherine Swift Cureton, 78, of Port Huron went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2015.
She was born April 5, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Roosevelt and Bessie Swift.
Mrs. Cureton was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was employed with the St. Clair Rubber Company and for the City of Port Huron prior to her retirement. She also volunteered her time with the Port Huron Area School District as a foster Grandparent. For many years she has served as Church Mother under Pastor Vincent E. Mathews at All Nations Church of God in Christ.
She leaves to mourn her passing eight children, Christopher (Patricia) Cureton, Leonarda (Richard) White, Dwain “Hank” (Malese) Cureton, Allen Cureton, Michelle Cureton, Patricia (Tyrone) Thompson, Lorie Fields and Kathy Cureton; 27 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Lincoln, Susie Lott, Bessie Tillman and Georgia Swift; a brother, Wilbert Swift Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald McNeil; three brothers, Eugene, Robert Sr. and Roosevelt Swift Jr.; granddaughter, Dominic L. Lee; and great granddaughter, KeShyra Hajarie
Visitation will be from 7-9 pm Friday, June 5, 2015 in All Nations Church of God in Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in All Nations Church of God in Christ. Elder Vincent E. Mathews will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
