Janet M Charbonneau

March 18th, 1919 to June 7th, 2015

Janet “Monica” Charbonneau, 96, of Marysville and West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Blue Water Hospice House.

She was born March 18, 1919 in Greenfield, Ontario to the late Benjamin and Mary Ann (Mae) McKinnon. She married Gerard “Jerry” Charbonneau on June 23, 1945 in Montreal, Quebec. He died September 12, 1981.

Monica was a hotel manager at the Ford Hotel in Montreal in the 1930’s and 40’s. After graduating from Port Huron Junior College and Wayne State, she became a first grade teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School in St. Clair from 1964 to 1974. She enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, making porcelain dolls, and flower gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Monica is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Anger of Goodells, Lynn (Randy) Burgett of Fort Gratiot, and Gail (David) Monikean of Port Huron; five grandchildren, Scot Anger, Melissa (John) Meredith, Dr. Colleen (Kevin) Delacy, Kelly Monikean, and Dr. Katie (Nick) Zechar; five great grandchildren, Scotty Anger, Michael (Brittaney) Anger, Gabriella McCarthy, Marley Meredith, and Diana Zechar; one great great granddaughter, Aaliyah Anger; her brother, Charles McKinnon; and many nieces and nephews. Monica leaves behind her special friend, Art Quenneville, and Bernard Hunter, who was the son she never had. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Gerald, Walter, Gordon, Desmond and Jerome McKinnon.

Per Monica’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial contributions may be made to Monica’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Blue Water Hospice. Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
