Joan M Reid
Joan Marie Reid, 85, of Port Huron, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2015, surrounded by her children who loved her deeply. She was not just our mother, she was our friend and mentor.
She was born September 30, 1929 in Syracuse, New York, the only child of Harold and Lillian Henry. She met John Reid in 1948 while he was on furlough from the Air Force and they married August 25, 1950 in Syracuse.
Always dreaming of having a large family, Joan was blessed with six children. Her life as an Air Force officer’s wife had many challenges, including moving at a moment’s notice when John got orders to relocate. She never complained, just packed and said our country needs us.
She is survived by her children, Tony (Pat) Reid, Kathy (Warren) Tuer, Cynthia (Fred) Anglebrandt, Mike (Karen) Reid, Theresa (Chris) Gordon; son-in-law, Marty (Holly) Fulton; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and another expected in November; and a great great granddaughter expected in September; her best friend, Carmen Green, who she loved like a sister; and good friend, Chris Bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and her youngest child, Connie Fulton, who she always called her baby. Knowing she is in heaven with them makes her passing a little easier. Mom we love you and miss you already.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.
