Charles J Silver
Charles James Silver Sr., 62, of Clyde Township, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
He was born November 24, 1952 in Detroit to Margaret and the late Percy J. Silver. He was a longtime resident of Port Huron.
Charles served as a court bailiff with St. Clair County for many years and after retirement continued as a court officer and process server. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Charles Hammond American Legion Post #8. He was an avid fisherman, loved baseball, music, and being with his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy; son, Charles Silver Jr. of Port Huron; daughter, Jill Silver-Hendersen of Orlando, FL; mother, Margaret J. Silver; siblings, Cathy (Dave) Martin, John (Deb) Silver, Marie (Mike) Buzan, Mike (Gean) Silver, Robert (Linda) Silver, Laura (Jerry) Slota and Shawn Silver; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and great nephews.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Donald Doerzbacher will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance.
