Leon K Basnaw
Leon K. Basnaw Sr., 90, of Clyde Township, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015.
He was born September 30, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Earl and Gladys Basnaw. He married Betty Churchill on November 27, 1947 in Port Huron.
Mr. Basnaw was employed with the St. Clair County Road Commission. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Charles Hammond Post 8 and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty; seven sons, Leon (Peggy) Basnaw Jr., Dennis (Barbara) Basnaw, John Basnaw, Donald (Marlene) Basnaw, Philip (Linda) Basnaw, Douglas (Debbie) Basnaw and Roger (Shirley) Basnaw; two daughters, Linda (Andy Francek) Smith and Karen (Donna) Basnaw; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Basnaw; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Beulah Larson and Edna Bennett. He was preceded in death by three children, Allen, Kevin and Jeff Basnaw.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in The River Church of God. Pastor William Forbes will officiate.
