Obituary

Thomas C. Lindsay, 69, of Fort Gratiot, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 23, 2015.

He was born September 9, 1946 in Port Huron and was a lifelong area resident. He married Nancy Matthews on July 7, 1967.

Tom was first employed as a door to door delivery man for London’s Dairy and retired 38 years later from Country Fresh in Flint. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves, serving active duty aboard the USS Gary weather ship during Operation Deep Freeze. He loved to hunt and fish from the time he was a child and in his later years enjoyed reading.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; three daughters, Paula (Forrest) Parker, Kerry (Marty) Fountain and Jill (Paul) Rhude; seven grandchildren, Steven Donahue, Jessica Donahue, Alyssa (Alex) Newcomb, Amanda Fountain, Sarah Rhude, Eric Rhude and Jacob Rhude; a sister, Jean (Jack) Dahl; a brother, Eugene (Wanda) Hillock; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lindsay; his mother, Mable Matthews; his stepmother, June Fitch; and two brothers, Larry and Don Lindsay.

Visitation will be 1-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Stan Liechty will officiate.

Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Peck.
