Obituary

Leslie Dallas VanCamp, 70, of Jeddo, died Saturday, December 19, 2015.

He was born June 23, 1945 in Croswell to the late Fred and Helen VanCamp.

Les was employed with Grand Trunk Western Railroad for 32 years and also was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and OWS (Oil Well Supply - American) for several years. He was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Grant Township Fire and Rescue Department for 25 years. He was a long time member of the Jeddo United Methodist Church and will be remembered by his family and friends as a hardworking and caring man.

He is survived by three children, Troy (Anna) VanCamp, Theresa (Rob) Stapleford and Tonya (Rob) Gordon; grandchildren, Ryan, Branden and Nicole VanCamp, Matt, Mike and Robert Stapleford and Audrey, Abby and Brooklyn Gordon; two great-grandchildren, Landin and Jasmine Stapleford; three sisters, Carol Ramage, Pamela Dann and Brenda Luther; brother-in-law, Les Luther; sister-in-law, Nancy VanCamp of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Ben Dann and Mel Ramage; and brother, Fred VanCamp.

The family would like to give special thanks to his close special friend and caregiver, Brenda Price.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Fireman’s Memorial will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. His brother-in-law, The Reverend Craig Pahl, will officiate.

Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Branden VanCamp, Ryan VanCamp, Robert Stapleford, Michael Stapleford, Matthew Stapleford, Nicole VanCamp and Brooklyn Gordon.

Memorials may be made to Jeddo United Methodist Church.
