Harold C Brywig

Harold Carl Brywig, 80, of Kimball Township, passed away at home on Thursday, April 7, 2016.

He was born April 16, 1935 in Flint to the late John and Rosalba Brywig. He married Shirley A. Johns on September 2, 1954 in Detroit. She died July 8, 2009.

Mr. Brywig served in the U.S. Army. He founded Preferred Industries, a tool and die company, over 40 years ago. He loved spending time with his family, especially at their cottage, which he helped build. He enjoyed his dogs and antique cars. He was a generous contributor to the Blue Water Area Humane Society, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Boy Scouts of America, where he also served as a Scout Leader.

He is survived by his sons, John (Mary) Brywig and Dale (Katrina) Brywig; a daughter, Karlene Sheridan; grandchildren, Eric and Lindsey Sheridan, Austin and Reid Brywig, Jessica Sendeck, Melissa Glaze and Rachel Fye; great grandchildren, Ethan, Evelyn, Makala and Matthew Sendeck, Leigh, Collin and Caleb Glaze, Luke and Weston Fye and Vaughn Sheridan; sister, Elsie Lindstrom; niece, Lisa Rice; and four great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Brywig.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016 in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Austin and Reid Brywig, Eric Sheridan, Scott and Ethan Sendek and Jay Glaze. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
