Anna L Grosser
Anna L. “Anita” Grosser, 99, of Lakeport, died Monday, May 9, 2016.
She was born June 28, 1916 in Port Huron to the late Herman and Anna Barthel.
Mrs. Grosser was employed with the Garwood Boat Factory in Marysville, the Port Huron Paper Company, Peoples Bank and most recently with the St. Clair County Friend of the Court which she retired from at the age of 70. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8 Auxiliary and member and past president of the V.F.W. Charles Schoor Post #796 Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended Lakeport Wesleyan Church with her daughter, Noreen.
She is survived by her daughters, Noreen (Edwin) Matthews and Karen (Cliff) Whitican; son, Michael (Irene) Grosser; step daughters, Pat Cook and Kathleen Shay; grandchildren, Lori (Roger) Fair, Mark (Monica) Matthews, Joni (Mike) Soflin, Tami Matthews, Michele (Tom) Moyer, Kimberly (Scott) Berg, Troy and Randy Grosser, Alicia (Levi) Benedict, Crystal Baker, Kristin Cook, Kelly Nesson, Bill and Aaron Hall; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Ted Shumate and Melvin Grosser; her son, Francis Shumate; and sisters, Ethel Kester, Eleanor Fishel and Leona Brandl.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Drew Mills of Lakeport Wesleyan Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Troy and Randy Grosser, Mark and Tim Matthews, Steve Whitican, Jordan Berg, Eugene Ludington and Riley Fair.
Memorials may be made to McLaren Hospice or Lakeport Wesleyan Church.
