Robert D "Bob" May

Robert D. “Bob” May, 61, of Smiths Creek, died Monday, May 30, 2016 surrounded by his family.

He was born August 31, 1954 in Port Huron to Harold and Mary May. He married Arline Reid on February 11, 1977.

Mr. May was employed with Winkworth Transit for 14 years and then owned and operated Bobby May Construction until his retirement. He enjoyed getting together with family, spending time in his man cave, restoring his 1979 Ford truck, visiting friends in Thompsonville and shooting pool.

He is survived by his wife, Arline; three children, Tanya (Barrett) Schantz, Andrea (John) Gossman and Robert (Melissa) May Jr.; five grandchildren, Alexis Schantz, Olivia and Hannah Gossman and Ryan and Madelyn May; three sisters, Chris (Bryan) Quayle, Cathy May and Cam May; a brother, Tim (Lenae) May; mother-in-law, Shirley Reid; brother-in-law, Jim (Kristen) Reid; sister-in-law, Debbie Shepley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary May; father-in-law, James Reid; and brother-in-law, James Shepley.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township. Pallbearers will be Randy Siebert, Harvey Prax, Carl Liniarski, Jr., Ervin Reid, David Casey and Josh Sinnott.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
