Edward King

Edward G. King Sr., 78, of Port Huron Township, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2016 in California.

He was born March 5, 1938 in Port Huron to the late George and Ernestine King. He attended St. Joseph’s and Port Huron High School.

Mr. King was employed with General Motors prior to his retirement. He enjoyed spending time in California, cooking, following the Detroit Tigers, bowling, travel and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years and was a member of the Toppers Club.

He is survived by five sons, Lawrence King Sr., Eric King Sr., Andre King, Sr., Terrence (Marian) King and Douglas (Liz) Walker; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; five siblings, Douglas (Jane) Spigner, Martha Wells, Roberta Sanders, Marian Walker and Donald (Carole) King; step children, Sherri (Jay) Stover, Kim Jackson, Leslie (Jodi) Smith, Mark Smith and Troy (Jeanna) Milton; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Merla “Toni” King; a son, Edward King, Jr.; and a sister, Eugenia Cole.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend Anthony King will officiate.
