Joseph Stark
Joseph Stark, 76, of New York, NY, died Saturday, October 15, 2016.
He was born on December 20, 1939, the sixth child of the late Roberta and Robert Stark in Port Huron, where he grew up and graduated from Port Huron High School.
In 1960, Joe moved to New York City and in 1962 was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served honorably as a military policeman until 1964. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he met his future wife, Thelma. In 1969, Joe began his career with the New York State Department of Corrections, where he served as a corrections officer until his retirement in 1990.
After retirement, Joe enjoyed hanging out with old neighborhood friends on Gouvenor Place in the Bronx.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Roberta, and his brothers, Robert and James. He is mourned by his wife, Thelma R. Stark; brother, Daniel Stark of Queens, NY; three sisters, Martha Porter of Port Huron, Lydia Baldock of Suffolk, VA and Audrey Jones of Port Huron; and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. The Rev. Richard Curry will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
