Robert E. Standefer Jr., 66, of Port Huron, died Saturday, November 12, 2016.
He was born November 23, 1949 in Monahans, Texas to the late Robert and Jessye Standefer. He married Helen Bowers on September 1, 1984 in Coppers Cove, Texas.
Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1985. He was deployed in Vietnam where he was awarded a Purple Heart, and he was also stationed in Germany. He was employed as a manager of a service company at a college in Texas until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, coin and clock collecting, watching movies, tall ships and working on his computer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Robert Earl (Zoe) Standefer III of Duvall, Washington and Erik Jay Standefer of Elizabethton, Tennessee; daughters, Shayla Noelle Standefer of Elizabethton, Tennessee and Brandy Nicole Standefer of Port Huron; grandson, Kire Standefer; sister, Roberta Huff of Wickett, Texas; special niece, Linda Jo Bell of Wickett, Texas; special nephew, Clay Sprouse of Monahans, Texas; and his loyal pet poodle, Mr. Brown and his grand pup, Sadie.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.
Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
