Gerald Bryson
Gerald “Jerry” Bryson, 75, of Smiths Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017.
He was born January 19, 1942 in Detroit to the late Patrick and Margaret Bryson. He married Carolyn Crosby on July 18, 1962 in Austin, Texas and on that day became her “Papa Bear” and she became his “Mama Bear”.
Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from Lee’s Plumbing after many years.
Papa loved spending time with his family sitting around the table discussing current events and telling his many stories. He had a soft, gentle side for all children, an infectious laugh and a kind and loving nature.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn of Smiths Creek; daughters, Debbie Monzo of Port Huron and Renee (Marty) Slominis of Chesterfield; honorary daughter, Debbie Jones of Port Huron; grandchildren, Ryan and Dustin Monzo and Stone and Pierce Slominis and Alicia (Adam) Stevens; great grandchildren, Amethyst and Alexis Stevens; brother, Jim (Dorothy) Bryson of Taylor; sister, Kelly Lewis of Redford; many nieces, nephews and many close friends that he considered family. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Bryson; and sisters, Nancy Klein and Valerie Raymond.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Pastor Randy Bennett of Blue Water Free Methodist Church will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Inurnment will be in Caswell Cemetery.
