Gerald W Beery
Gerald Warren Beery, 79, of Port Huron Township, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, January 23, 2017.
He was born September 8, 1937 in Port Huron to the late Warren and Idona Joy Beery.
Jerry served in the U.S. Army and was a welder, fabricator and tugboat engineer for Malcolm Marine. He was a certified mig, tig and arc welder and he fabricated the workboat, the “Gerry B.” that was named after him. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing with new people. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather and will be sadly missed by all of his family and adopted kids.
He is survived by his six children, David (Melissa) Beery, Steven Beery, Deana (Dave) Beery, Joseph (Beth) Beery, Sandra (Mike) Beery and Debbie (Dave) Myer; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; his sister, Carol Limberger; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Deanna Mary Grace Beery; his parents, Warren Beery and Idona Conklin Gonzales; and friend and employer, Keith Malcolm.
A Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Military honoras will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
