Leonard C Falk
Leonard Charles “Butch” Falk, 73, of Port Huron, went home to his Savior on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
He was born November 1, 1943 in Port Huron to Florence and the late Charles Falk. He was baptized, attended Sunday School and was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Growing up, summers were spent at the family cottage where he enjoyed walking the beach, swimming and fishing. He made a lasting friendship with a bachelor friend who worked the family farm nearby. They had a team of horses that Butch rode harvesting their hay and grain. At 16, Butch went to Kentucky to a race track as a stable hand and with the money he earned, he bought his first horse.
Mr. Falk worked at both PHHS and PH Northern High Schools and retired from the Chrysler Sterling Heights plant after 21 years of service. He enjoyed horseback riding and was an avid CB’er. When I-94 opened, he was often out there with his gas can aiding people. He volunteered weekends in the summer with the CB’ers serving coffee at the Visitor’s Center, at the St. Clair County Farm Museum, Pine River Riding Stables Rodeo and 4-H.
He is survived by his wife, Deborra; his mother, Florence Falk; three children, Kenneth (Amy) Falk, Steven Falk and Amandalynn Falk and fiancé, Vernon Preston; four grandchildren, Ashlee, Hunter and fiancée, Danielle, Emalee and Jarrid Falk; step children, Lindamarie Young, Angela Brown, and Sgt. Michael (Christy) Peart; step grandchildren, Nicholas and Randy J. Brown Jr, Tyler, Ashlee and Cassidy Peart; a brother, Mark Falk; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Nancy Dandron; and brothers-in-law, John Dandron and Herbert Dandron.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Bonnie Klos will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Heron House.
