William R Roach
William R. Roach, 84, of Fort Gratiot, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
He was born September 17, 1932 in Bronson, Michigan, to the late Elmer and Josephine Roach. He married Marilyn Ingersoll on September 27, 1952 in Port Huron.
Mr. Roach was employed with Grand Trunk Western Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1991 as a Production, Planning and Control Officer. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was Past Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias and a member of North Street United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid golfer and deer hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn; four children, Katie (Charles) Kenney, William (Patricia) Roach, David (Kim) Roach and John (Diana) Roach; nine grandchildren, Steven (Sara) Kenney, Charles Kenney, Kayla (Chad) Fulghum, Joe (Amy) Roach, Ken (Richelle) Roach, Jennifer (Aaron) Huff, Michelle (Nate) Petrusak, Lela Roach and Jace Roach; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Roach; a sister, Joyce (Herb) Bringard; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in North Street United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend David Reed will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot Township. Pallbearers will be William’s grandchildren. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
