Ernest E. Moutoux Sr., 77, of Port Huron Township, died Friday, August 11, 2017.

He was born October 12, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Bennett E. and Lila Agnes Moutoux. He married Irene M. Jeffery on August 11, 1962 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2014.

Ernest served in the United States Army. He was employed with Eugene Welding for many years and then was a security guard until his retirement. He enjoyed writing poetry and watching westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He had a very large family and loved spending time with all of them.

He is survived by his seven children, Gary (Stephanie) Moutoux, Tommy (Cathey) Moutoux, Tammy (Ricky) Hutchinson, Ernest (Kimberly) Moutoux II, Sarah (Mark) Spranger, Donald Moutoux and David (Monica) Moutoux; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his step-sister, Norma Jean (Butch) Little; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Moutoux; sister, Martha Carr; and step-brother, William Graves.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 in County Park Bible Church, 8433 County Park Drive, Goodells, MI with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the church.

Burial will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium. Military honors will be conducted by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Army.
