Obituary

Dan Edward Woodruff, 39, of Burtchville Township, died unexpectedly Friday, March 2, 2018.

He was born July 15, 1978 in Sandusky to Nancy L. and the late Richard E. Woodruff.

Dan graduated from Peck High School. He began his career with the Port Huron Police Department as a cadet in October 1996 and was promoted to full time as the department’s animal control officer in January 1998. Since this time, along with his duties as an animal control officer, he also handled vehicle processing, video evidence administration and assisted with property room duties. He was active in the P.O.A.M. for many years and was the current treasurer of the Port Huron Police Officers Association.

He is survived by his children, Lilly and Wyatt Woodruff; his mother, Nancy Pringle; three brothers, “Ernie” Woodruff, Jeremy “Jay” (Jodi) Woodruff, and Matthew (Lynsie) Woodruff; nieces and nephews, Madison, Laci, Clara, Jaylin, Samuel and Jack Woodruff and Hannah (Matthew) Lynch; a great niece, Sofia Lynch; his girlfriend, Sarah Driscoll and her children, William and Isabelle; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

Burial will be in Elk Township Cemetery, Peck. Pallbearers will be Dan’s family and PHPD family.
