Dale Edgar Powers, 93, of Sherman, Texas, formerly of Port Huron, died Friday, April 20, 2018.
He was born May 10, 1924 in Port Huron to the late Harold E. and Luella Powers. He married Luella Marie Schultz on June 8, 1946 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2014.
Mr. Powers served in the United States Merchant Marine during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as the Manager of Customer Services, retiring in May of 1979, after 32 years of service. He and Luella then moved to Texas and have lived there for the last 30 years. He was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Huron and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Sherman, Texas.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Marsha) Powers and Judith (Robert) McBride; four grandchildren, Scott Powers, Kenlyn (Kirby) Junge, Darin (Mary Kay) Langolf and Tina (Nathaniel) Cook; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda) Langolf, Faith Langolf, Zachary Cook, Makenzy Cook and Timo Junge; and one great-great granddaughter, Luella Langolf,
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 in Trinity Lutheran Church. The Reverend Dr. Mark Madson will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Cook, Zachary Cook, Darin Langolf, and Donald Plaut. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
