Maxine F Smith
Maxine F. Smith, 93, of St. Clair Twp., died Monday, May 21, 2018.
She was born August 10, 1924 in Smiths Creek to the late Charles and Eugenia Frazer. She married Thomas L. Smith on June 15, 1946 in Smiths Creek. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2012.
Maxine was employed at Prestolite Wire and then was head cook at the Marysville High School. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church where she participated in the Altar Society. Maxine was also an avid sports fan and bowler for over 50 years. Most of all, she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in their sporting activities.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Sheryl) Smith, James (Joan) Smith, Joseph (Kelly) Smith, Eugene (Becky) Smith, Richard (Elly) Smith, Robert Smith and Timothy (Wendy) Smith; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; siblings, June Bailey, Donna (Robert) Brown, Joan Kelch, Pat Kilbourn, Jane Morrison and Sherwood (Judy) Frazer; sister-in-law, Malve Frazer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Brockdorff and brother, James Frazer.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 5-8 pm Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Scripture service will be held at 7:30 pm.
Maxine will lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am Friday, May 25, 2018 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
