Angeline "Dolly" Nutt
Angeline D. “Dolly” Nutt, 92, of Marysville, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
She was born August 27, 1926 in Port Huron to the late Silvio and Flora Luciani. She married Joseph L. Nutt on October 2, 1948 in Smiths Creek. He died August 24, 1992.
Dolly graduated from Marysville High School in 1945 and worked at several businesses, including Port Huron Paper Company and the Fogcutter Gift Shop. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the League of Catholic Women. She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital for over 50 years and won awards from the Marysville Beautification Commission for her lawn and landscaping. She loved sweets and enjoyed quilting.
Dolly’s father was a distant cousin of Albino Luciani, who was Cardinal Patriarch of Venice and was elected Pope John Paul I in 1978. She attended his coronation at the Vatican.
She is survived by a son, Michael (Geri) Nutt; a granddaughter, Kimberly Nutt; three siblings, Richard (Betty) Luciani, Sylvia Wolff and Arnold (Angie) Luciani; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy G. Nutt on August 27, 1980.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m.
Dolly will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 in St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville. The Rev. James Arwady will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
