James B Cumbow

James B. Cumbow Jr., 70, of Lynn Township, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 24, 2018.

He was born September 30, 1948 in Chicago to the late James and Joanne Cumbow. He graduated from Osborn High School in Detroit and furthered his education at Wayne State University. He married Kathryn “Kay” Haffner on August 12, 1995 in Otsego, Michigan.

Mr. Cumbow was a self-employed electrical engineer, a licensed electrical contractor and owner of Gobar Inc. He was a WJBK TV retiree, former Chairman of the Lynn Township Planning Commission and was a current member of the Township’s Zoning Board of Appeals. He served as the Vice President of the Thumb Amateur Radio Club and held an Extra Class license. He loved books and was a farmer at heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay; a sister, Rebecca (Mike) Holden; two brothers, Robert (Rhonda) Cumbow and John (Melanie) Cumbow; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be held in the spring.
