Sylvia June Shaening, 93, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
She was born June 11, 1925 in Roseville to the late Russel George Varney Leach and Sadie Mae Leach.
Sylvia was employed at Michigan Bell as an operator for many years. She also worked in retail, in the kitchen at Chrysler Corporation, at Rochester Paper Company, and spent some time working in Florida both at a printing company and restaurant.
She is survived by her three children, Bonnie Jean (Ronald R. Sanchez) Penzien-Sanchez, John Herbert Middlemiss, and Sandra Mae Middlemiss; grandchildren, Derek (Kristine) Penzien, Jasen (Nicole) Penzien, James (Carrie) Penzien II, Jerod Penzien, Joa (Dominique) Penzien, John Middlemiss, Ronald Middlemiss, Donald Middlemiss, Michael (Cyndi) Yax, Kim (Jorden) Cassidy, Alicia Barrett, Mandy (Morris) Steinheimer, Patrick Nielson Parker; many great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Leach; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Lynn Nielsen; sister, Betty (Claude) Reynolds; and two brothers, George (Beulah) Leach and Edgar Leach.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday in Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 at Living Word Fellowship, 60170 New Haven Road, Lenox with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Warren Hood will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Macomb.
