Janet L Bridgwood

Janet L. Bridgwood, 76, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2019 after battling a short illness.

She was born March 2, 1943 in New York to the late Robert & Dorothy Paterson. She married Arthur "Artie" Bridgwood on December 23, 1965 in Long Island, New York. They celebrated with a formal church service on March 12, 1966 in St. James Catholic Church, Seaford, New York.

Janet loved her family unconditionally. She valued her days as a Grandma, soaked in every minute as a Gigi, as her life revolved around spoiling great grandchildren, grandkids and her sweet dog, “Lily-girl”! Gigi attended every sporting event, equipped with a magical bag of treats for the kids! She enjoyed making the most delicious meals for those she loved, to fill hearts, and little tummies!

She is survived by five children, Thomas (Doris) Helmrich, Darlene (Rudy) Sarino, Vincent (Charlene) Bridgwood, Jennifer Bridgwood and Marie (Doug) Weinberg; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother, Scott Paterson (Beverley Payne); and her yellow lab, Lily. She is now reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Artie, her brother and parents, and all of the pets they held closely to their hearts.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Holy Trinity Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron.
